Vocal Instructor

Supervises the location and make sure that everything runs smoothly from week to week including:
– Hiring and supervision of assistant(s)
– Attend and lead class instruction in singing and choreography (ages 3 -18)
– Teach private vocal lessons as needed
– Coordination of music recitals concerning venue, times, dates, lighting, sound, etc…
– Management of parents needs and wishes including conflict resolution.
– Willingness to substitute teach at a different location and visa versa.
– Good communication skills
– Have your own form of transportation
– Good problem-solving skills
– Be able to ensure that their location is left clean and organized.
– Recruit and retain students into the program.

Choreographer

Needs to be able to interpret and develop ideas and transform them into the finished performance. This might mean taking overall control of a performance, or working under the direction of the location manager or owners.

When working with an Owner or Location Manager(director), the choreographer must gain a full understanding of that persons vision of the show, including style and pacing, and must be familiar with the script and music. An effective choreographer is one who supports the director’s vision, so that all elements of movement and dance work as part of the larger picture. Some directors will give their choreographers a great deal of freedom for their work, but even so, the result must be part of an organic whole, supporting the story, characters, and the overall artistic intent.

As part of the production’s support team, the choreographer must work closely with the musical director (and accompanist), costume designer, set designer and lighting designer, to make sure that all stage movement is compatible with musical cues, costuming , sets and lighting.

A strong candidate will also have the following:
-The ability to teach and express their ideas in an understandable fashion
-Experience as a choreographer
-Need to have your own transportation
-Flexible schedule
-Willingness to teach at multiple locations
-The ability to work with many students over a short period of time.

Assistant

Location Assistant – Assists the location manager to make sure that everything runs smoothly from week to week including:
– Attend and help with class instruction in singing and choreography (ages 3 -18)
– Assisting with music recitals concerning venue, times, dates, lighting, sound, etc…
– Teach private vocal lessons as needed
– Management of parents needs and wishes including conflict resolution.
– Willingness to help at a different locations as needed
– Good communication skills
